Fish Rice Without Onions



Prepare a rich and healthy main dish of fish with this delicious and easy fish rice recipe, perfect to pair with various fish dishes. Here's the simplest way to make fish rice without onions, ideal to serve with oven-baked grilled fish.

Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Serves: 4 people

Ingredients:
Rice: 2 cups (washed and drained)
Oil: 2 tablespoons
Salt: to taste
Black Pepper: to taste
Cumin: ½ teaspoon (ground)
Cinnamon: a pinch (ground, optional)
Hot Water: 2 cups (or as per the type of rice)
Sugar: 2 tablespoons (white)
Carrot: 1 (sliced thinly for garnish)
Fish: as needed (grilled)
Instructions:
In a deep pot over medium heat, heat the sugar until it turns dark brown.
Add the oil and drained rice to the pot.
Stir the rice well, and season with salt, black pepper, cumin, and a pinch of cinnamon (optional).
Add hot water to the pot, enough to cover the rice by about one finger's width. Let it boil, then cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let the rice cook until fully done.
Remove the pot from the heat and transfer the fish rice to a serving dish. Garnish with the thinly sliced carrot.
Serve the rice hot alongside the grilled fish.
